Satellite Imagery Analysis

Satellite TraX®  provides an extensive multisource Stretch VSSR, APT/WEFAX, and GOES Tap analysis capability for wXstation. When combined with a Satellite TraX APT/WEFAX or Stretch VSSR data server, Satellite TraX can ingest a wide variety of imagery data such as:

  • GOES,
  • METEOSAT,
  • GMS,
  • NOAAPORT imagery, and
  • Polar Orbiters.

The output of a Satellite TraX data server is connected to the wXstation data communications function via Ethernet, which allows the Satellite TraX data server to be remotely located or placed adjacent to the wXstation host computer. The server may be configured with the IPS Galileo system for Stretch VSSR/GVAR/PDUS direct ingest or with Northern Video Graphic's MEGAVIEWTM satellite display system, which provides additional APT/WEFAX and GOES Tap analysis capability. In addition, Sonalysts can provide a Unisys weather data service, which includes GOES Tap imagery.

The Satellite TraX option for wXstation provides the operator with the ability to display, color enhance, and loop geostationary imagery. In addition, imagery from polar orbiting satellites can be displayed and color enhanced.

Image Enhancement Analysis

The operator can compute histograms, define gray scale or color temperature enhancement curves, and zoom in on any image. Land and latitude/longitude overlays are available for digital source images. Temperature readouts are available for infrared images.

Looping

The operator can loop on any image set (as many as 48 images) and can simultaneously loop in multiple windows.
